This is the real reason we went on the Chicago trip was to make a difference in the world! And yes that is more fun than eating the best pizza in Chicago!
This is our group
of volunteers.
These numbers represent what we accomplished after each volunteer session of packaging food.

If you started to complain about getting tired, just look around and you would be reminded of why you were there. It is to help these starving children. It definitly kept the fire going under me.

These are rolled up rice bags. After all of the rice has been packaged for meals the bags are also sent over seas to be given to the families who also receive food so that they can use these bags as their rooftops.

Chicken, veggies, soy, rice anyone?
These are the four ingredients packaged and sent to the starving children.

Some of the volunteers. We loved the hairnets, they had to be worn to make sure everything remained sanitary in the packaging room.

After each packaging session we prayed over the food so that the food would not only make it there safely, but nourish these children's bodies.

Sealing and packing

Weighing and sealing

measuring and bagging

We were able to sample the food that we packaged so that we knew what the kids would be eating in a few days time. It was really pretty good, and smelled just like the Ramen noodle chicken mix.

This is an actual dirt cake made by a mother overseas. She makes these to give to her children so it will fill there stomachs to make them fill full and to get them to stop crying out due to hunger.
